McKenzie lay on his bed, the silence ringing in his ears. All the lights were off and the light from outside was slowly fading yet he felt no motivation to get up and flick on the switch in the room. A sigh escaped the teens lips as he lay there, arms under his head as he stared up at the cealing. It wasn't really that there wasn't anything to do. It was more that there wasn't anyone to do it with. He had been laying here for a few good hours, not even bothered to put on his usual make up so his face was fresh and clean for once, save for all his piercings. His shoes were kicked off the end of the bed and he wiggled his toes subconsiously as he lay there. his thoughts random and rambled

Let's see he was seventeen now, he was thirteen when he first came here, that meant that he had been here for nearly four years correct? so then only one more year until he was out of here on his own. What would he do then? He was sure that he would be able to survive on his own but where would he start? I should probably try getting a job now and save up some money so i have a least a little bit of a head start right? right. But what if i'm not able to do it? what if i fail at life outside this? oh no that wouldn't be good.

And it continued like that. That is, until someone decided to come and find him. Doubt anyone really would though. Even after being here for so long he still didn't really know anyone. Not really, not like close close friends. Sure there were the "aquaintences" but were those really friends? He sighed again. He really needed to stop thinking sometimes. It just made him depressed.
